Fairfield, CA

Fairfield combines a prime commercial real estate location, room for growing businesses, and a large and talented work force. Affordable housing, good schools and close proximity to many of the San Francisco Bay Area’s world-famous destinations, make Fairfield attractive for employers and workers.

It is generally considered the midpoint between the cities of San Francisco and Sacramento, approximately 40 miles from the city center of both cities, approximately 40 miles from the city center of Oakland, less than 19 miles from Napa Valley.

Fairfield is best known as being home to the Jelly Belly Factory and Anheuser-Busch Brewery. Both world-famous companies offer exciting and delicious tours for all ages. Did you know it can take two weeks to make a single Jelly Belly jelly bean? Get a behind the scenes look at how Jelly Belly creates its famous bean and over 100 other fine confections on the free daily tour. Just a mile down the road is Anheuser-Busch, where the marquee attraction, “Flights of Fairfield,” includes a one-on-one session with a brewing expert.

As proud as Fairfield is of its iconic attractions, this area has so much more to offer. Few realize this bustling region is home to a thriving wine country, beautiful outdoor parks, championship golf courses, unique wildlife, a natural marsh and a rich history dating back hundreds of years.

Fairfield has a typical Mediterranean climate with hot, dry summers and cool, wet winters. Characteristic of inland California, summers can get quite hot. Autumns are warm in the early part but quickly cool down as the wet season approaches. Winters can be cool, and often foggy, but are mild compared to other regions. Spring is a rather pleasant season with fairly mild temperatures and not so much rain. The greater majority of precipitation falls in the autumn, winter, and spring months with little to none in summer.

It is the home of Travis Air Force Base. Travis AFB has a major impact on the community as a number of military families and retirees have chosen to make Fairfield their permanent home. Travis AFB is the largest employer in the City and Solano County as well, and the massive Travis workforce has a local economic impact of more than $1 billion annually. The Base also contributes a large number of highly skilled people to the local labor pool.
